Welcome to Steadsons’ Homestead! By accessing or purchasing from our website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. Business Information

Steadsons’ Homestead is a family-run small business located in Prince George, Virginia. We operate under:

  • Virginia Cottage Food Laws (allowing the sale of certain homemade foods directly to consumers).

  • A valid Prince George County business license.

  • A registered EIN (Employer Identification Number) for tax and reporting purposes.

2. Product Information & Disclaimers

  • All baked goods, canned, and preserved items are made in a private home kitchen not subject to Virginia Department of Agriculture or Department of Health inspections.

  • Products are prepared using traditional home-kitchen methods. While we maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, our kitchen is not allergen-free. Items may contain or come into contact with: wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, soy, and other common allergens.

  • Ingredient lists are available on all packaging. Customers are responsible for reviewing ingredient labels and disclosing allergies before purchase.

3. Ordering & Payment

  • All orders are processed through our website or directly at local markets and farm stands.

  • Payment is accepted via cash, Zelle, Venmo, Tap, and other methods as indicated on our site.

  • Orders are confirmed only after full payment (unless otherwise arranged).

4. Pick-Up & Delivery

  • Products are available for local sales only within Prince George, VA and surrounding areas as allowed by Virginia cottage food law.

  • Orders must be picked up at the designated time and location agreed upon at checkout or through direct communication. Without prior communication of conflict, no refunds will be issued.

  • We currently do not ship baked or preserved goods outside of Virginia.

5. Refunds & Returns

  • Due to the perishable nature of our products, all sales are final.

  • If you receive a product that is damaged, mislabeled, or otherwise unsatisfactory, please contact us within 48 hours so we can make it right.

  • All bread, sourdough, baked goods, and the included compass of products are to be consumed within 3 days maximum of "date of baked" listed on your product and stored properly per fresh baked goods; varies by product. 

  • Any an all canned goods purchased are processed following USDA approved and tested recipes . Purchase of canned goods are at consumer risk to Virginia Cottage Food Laws. No liability of illness, sickness, medical conditions or reactions, etc., will be imposed on Steadsons Homestead LLC. dba Steadsons' Homestead. 

6. Liability

By purchasing from Steadsons’ Homestead, you acknowledge that:

  • Products are prepared in compliance with Virginia cottage food laws.

  • The business is not liable for reactions or issues arising from undisclosed allergies or improper storage/handling of products after pickup.

  • Customers are encouraged to refrigerate or freeze items promptly when applicable to maintain freshness and food safety.

7. Privacy & Data Collection

  • Any personal information you provide (name, email, phone number, address) is used only for order processing and communication.

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

  • Our site may use cookies or analytics tools to improve user experience.

8. Business Rights

  • Steadsons’ Homestead reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason in compliance with Virginia and federal law.

  • Prices, product availability, and policies may change without prior notice.
